To manufacture glass bottles for the food and beverage industries, the result must meet certain standards in order to be used.

Sensors are required to monitor temperature at the following stages of manufacturing:
Furnace
Ingredients are heated to approx. 1550C to create molten glass.
Refiner
The molten glass cools to about 1250C.
Forehearth
Glass brought to a uniform temperature to prepare for cutting into gobs.
Forming Machine
Glass continues cooling to approx. 700C in order to shape and expand the gob into the end result.
Annealing
Glass bottles are reheated to about 565C and then cooled slowly to 150C.
Monitoring of temperatures at each stage of this process is crucial to produce glass bottles that meet industry standards.
